About Me:

I am a musician and educator in Austin, Texas. I perform in Texas and elsewhere with my own jazz groups and as a sideman in a variety of genres.

I grew up in the Hudson Valley, New York and was fortunate to be exposed to many great musicians at a young age. My musical journey began by studying classical piano with Gwen Stevens and participating in masterclasses/chamber music coaching with a variety of artists. I later discovered jazz and began to take the saxophone more seriously, studying with Tim Price in New York.

I moved to Austin in mid 2007 and quickly began performing with a variety of groups and building my private studio of piano and saxophone students. Over the past few years I have been lucky enough to perform and record with many great musicians, arrange significant portions of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker score for jazz combo as part of a dance production, and much more.

Some tracks from 04.03 at Cool River

I just uploaded some tracks to my Soundcloud player at right from Sunday night's gig at Cool River Cafe. They feature Alex Coke on tenor, Bart Madeley on guitar, Mike St. Clair on bass, and Masumi Jones on drums.

So far we have nice versions of Like Someone In Love, I Thought About You, My Romance, and Deep in A Dream. Consider the three Jimmy van Heusen tunes to be a sneak preview of our gig on Sunday, April 10 featuring his music.
